Once again they are standing on the same plane of ground, so we can ignore that both of their feet are not visible their knees are even bent the same way, so we have more confidence on their being at the same elevation. It is also a general rule of thumb among avian creatures birds and bats especially that retracting the wings to half their span is ideal for slow glides.

The point is to show that Toothless has not grown! It was stated that Toothless and Hiccup were the same age, but in terms of actual sizeToothless has not gotten any bigger.
*_* toothless's measurements?
Seems very reasonable! We start by measuring the length of one wing, and then the back length, and then combine with the second wing for our on-screen measurement. Showing our work, so to speak. I just really hope that my findings here are helpful to you all! Feel free to contact me there.

It specifies that in the bonus features trivia track on the Blu Ray and in the art book… so maybe your calculations might be slightly off due to that… Source: thatendydummy HTTYD Hiccup. So we measure Stoick, get our scale proportion: 0.
Toothless, "alpha mode" or a titan wing?
My tumblr format is not brilliant, so if you want to find older entries or entries that go together, using the tags should be helpful. The scale proportion I found is illustrated up there - 0. Thanks for doing it! Plus I mean look at him in the picture. We can now perform our scaling math, and arrive at the proportion figure of: 0. So, going off this logic, I assume that they were probably equally accurate about keeping their proportions straight in the HTTYD2 storyboards.

This is rather tall! Toothless the Nightfury Hello this is my tumblr .
The size of toothless
That was actually pretty close to what I was guessing at. For you Hijack people, this means he is either just slightly shorter than Jack, or is about the same height.

Now, both of their feet are cut off in this shot. It specifies that in the bonus features trivia track on the Blu Ray and in the art book… so maybe your calculations might be slightly off due to that….

Anyway, I digress. Not in size, anyhow.

Directly bellow are links to my ask and submit s. But then again I am pretty sure none of us are surprised by that. This, meanwhile, is the position Toothless had his wings in while hovering behind Hiccup in that earlier shot, this time seen from above. So there you guys have it!

So, all that must be done is measure with some flexible measuring tape the size of the creature on the screen, and then figure out scale! The guy is a giant! Now we can measure Hiccup.

Source: thatendydummy. Hiccup is a few feet lower in the air than Toothless watching the trailer will show you thiswhich makes him larger in our visual plane, since he is closer to the screen than Toothless. Nice to see that my rough guesses are supported by this more in depth study.

Important to note, however, is the depth difference. So, we measure Stoick, scale up using our proportion, and our conclusion…. So there ya go! So I took it upon myself to do a little investigation, that the fandom may be able to use this information for their own purposes!
Sideshow collectibles
Very thorough. We now measure Hiccup, scale him up with our scale figure and we arrive at: 70 inches to 71 inches. If he has not grown, then that means his wingspan is still the same, and that means, we can do this! Which we will need later. You can see, very noticeably, the difference in extension, and how much more shrimpy Hiccup looks compared against their full span.

Ah well. This is rather easy, thanks to this shot! And here we have some proof images.

If you have looked at the HTTYD1 storyboards, you know those illustrators were pretty dang accurate about height even in the storyboartds! But, we have one final task, juuuuuust to be sure. I am thrilled to be here and hope you will enjoy the stuff I post. So have these shots:.
